What Channel Is England 6 Nations on

The 6 Nations Championship returns next weekend, as England look to defend their title.

Most nations involved haven't played international rugby since the Autumn Nations Cup, which concluded in December 2020 as England beat France.

The Nations Cup victory marked continued success for Eddie Jones' side, who emerged victorious from last year's interrupted 6 Nations.

The tournament began on February 1, 2020 and was set to conclude on March 14, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

To finish the Championship, four games were played in October, which saw England claim their 29th outright title. They finished level on points with France, but took the win due to their higher points difference.

When the 6 Nations returns this season, three matches will be played over the first weekend and every game will be televised on free-to-air television.

The Championship begins with Italy v France on Saturday afternoon (February 6).

Last year, Italy finished bottom with zero points, they now face a strong France side who will look to go one better than their performances in the Autumn Nations Cup and last year's 6 Nations.

Defending champions England face Scotland at Twickenham in Saturday's second game. Scotland won three of their five games in last season's Championship and will provide a tough test for the hosts, who will want to pick up where they left off.

Sunday's solitary game sees Wales play Ireland in Cardiff.

Wales only managed one victory in last year's 6 Nations, beating Wales 42-0 in their opening game. Afterwards, it was a hugely disappointing Championship for them.

Not to the extent of Wales' performance, but Ireland also had an underwhelming competition in 2020. They started well, but suffered losses to both England and France, to leave them out of title contention and finish third.

As is the case with all elite sport at the moment, the games will be played behind closed doors, so television coverage is the only way to watch live.
